Where to start. We have the most corrupt state in America. Last year, a study from the University of Illinois Chicago rated Illinois the fourth most corrupt state based on the number of convictions for public corruption.

Of course, as learned last year with the Jussie Smollett case, a big part of Illinois corruption is the ability for political insiders to not only avoid convictions, they can avoid getting charged or even caught.

We can stop it.

Term Limits

We need to limit the length of time politicians spend in Washington and in Springfield. Politicians whose eyes are continually on maintaining their power are more prone to corruption and less concerned about serving their constituencies.

Redistricting Reform

Fair maps are the beginning of fair elections. Across the country, politicians are drawing maps that benefit their own reelections instead of maps that serve voters.

Illinois is perhaps the worst state in America for this. For the 2020 election cycle, just 48 out of 118 House districts have a contest between a Republican and a Democrat.
